At Newman Catholic College, we provide a Geography curriculum that inspires in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. The Curriculum equips pupils with knowledge about diverse places and people together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. As pupils progress, their growing knowledge helps them to deepen their understanding of the world and their place in it.

Geography at Newman is dynamic, contemporary and relevant because we expose our pupils to issues and environments outside of their every day , lived  experience. Some students may have limited cultural and travel experience outside of their immediate environment. We aim to address this through opportunities for fieldwork and investigations, which allows pupils to consider our changing world, and their role within it.

Our geography students will become global citizens and  leave Newman Catholic College  with the ability to apply geographical skills to their everyday life. These skills are transferable and valuable in an evolving job market.
